![]() Comparisons aside, I have to admit that on REVOLUTIONS PER MINUTE Johnny has won me over. If he was singing in any other hard rock or metal band, he would not be under the microscope as much as he is when filling the snakeskin boots of Baz. The main thing people are paying attention to in current Skid Row is undoubtedly vocalist Johnny Solinger. It is im-fucking-possible to not compare ANYTHING they do to the two monumental albums SKID ROW (1989) and SLAVE TO THE GRIND (1991). If not on them, then it sure does on many fans. “IN MY OPINION…this song is the greatest song of all time…yes I said it.Will Skid Row be nothing without Sebastian Bach (Baz)? Will Sebastian be nothing without Skid Row? These are questions that perhaps infuriate or play on the minds of Skid Row and Baz. Not only is it Skid Row’s best song, it’s one of the best of rock anthems ever.” “This one’s the anthem of an entire generation growing up in the 80s. And out of all the songs that I remember, I remember you are the song I remember the most.” Brilliant song that reminds me of the time that I’d listen to this on my walkman. “Excellent song on their very first album: skid row. Somehow, this song itself isn’t what makes it the best, what makes it the best is the band energy and emotion playing’ this song” This song was played and singed with a great energy and Sebastian and Dave put their best on this song. “There’s one thing that there isn’t on other Skid’s song, that’s touching vocals, Sebastian really did a great job with this song, along with the simple but great solo, and the great 12-stringed Guitar chords. And that opening lead guitar, beautiful! Sets the tone what’s about to follow.”Ĥ. “Sebastian shows off his full range in this song-the mid section scream that goes into the chorus in one breath is awesome! Who ever calls this song boring has no appreciation for great tuneage. In a Darkened Room (Slave to the Grind, 1991) “Excellent opening riff, amazing lyrics and brilliant life song Such a heavy song, the guitar alone will blow the roof off! Crank it up and you’ll see what I mean.”ĥ. Slave to the Grind (Slave to the Grind, 1991) Great vocals and a blast to play! Their performance on SNL with this song and piece of me is outstanding!”Ħ. Monkey Business (Slave to the Grind, 1991) Sebastian also holds one of the most unbelievable high note for what feels like eternity.”ħ. I almost feel like I’m in a trance when I listen to this one. The power of the guitars combined with Sebastian’s howling vocals make this a rare gem. “One of the most epic songs to come out of the 90’s. Quicksand Jesus (Slave to the Grind, 1991) “One of the greatest things that happened to glam metal was the onset of grunge. Not because grunge destroyed glam metal (but it did really, it was an overnight coup in the popular rock music industry), but because grunge forced the glam metal lot to clean up their act (or, by grunge’s standards, to make their act imperfect and ditch the posh) or get the boot.”Ĩ. ![]() Zero Day (Rise of the Damnation Army (United World Rebellion: Chapter 2), 2014) Baz paints a pretty full picture of this woman, even down to her red hair. “This is good stuff, and lots of at least semi subtle innuendo. The dark, organic, and heavy sound production are very well sounding too and suits the music perfectly.” To top it off Skid Row features a tight and organic sounding rhythm section, which successfully drive the music forward. Sebastian Bach delivers a great vocal performance, the guitars are raw and edgy and the guitar solos blistering. ![]() “No matter which musical territory Skid Row cover, they do it with passion, skill, and conviction. Slave is an assault and in your face hard rock in its 90s version! Fantastic good album with the stunning Sebastian Bach soulful voice. “ “So, Skid Row is one more US silly-hairy-glam-metal band, eh? No way! This is SKID ROW now for me. Livin’ on a Chain Gang (Slave to the Grind, 1991)
